Iain Copeland, originally from Glasgow, Scotland, is well known to fans of the groundbreaking Traditional/Celtic music group Peatbog Faeries, in which he played drums for nearly 15 years.
Iain has also been a member of many other high profile Scottish groups such as Session A9, The Unusual Suspects and Babelfish, he has even put in a couple of appearances with Scottish Acid Croft legends Shooglenifty in New York in 2005. Iain has appeared regularly in many cutting edge projects on the contemporary Scottish music scene including a tour in 2010 with Patsy Reid’s project ‘Bridging the Gap’
Iain is also responsible for the creation of Glasgow’s most successful jazz club – Basement Jazz, of which he remains the Artistic Director. Basement Jazz is currently managing the Skye Jazz Festival.
Iain continues to work and agitate at the very frontiers of the UK music scene and has many interesting projects underway as well as an enviable back catalogue of involvement in highly innovative and original works
